Fixed fees for standard property transactions
For many standard property matters, fixed fees provide certainty from the outset. Current pricing is:
- Property purchase: $1,850 plus GST and disbursements
- Property sale: $1,650 plus GST and disbursements
- Mortgage refinancing: $900 plus GST and disbursements
These fixed fees apply to most standard transactions.
If additional work is required, such as KiwiSaver withdrawals, preparing sale and purchase agreements, or matters outside the usual transaction scope, this is discussed and costed before the work proceeds.
Property legal fees are payable on settlement rather than upfront.

Fixed fees and estimates for other legal work
Some other legal services may also be suitable for fixed-fee pricing, depending on the scope. This can include:
- enduring powers of attorney
- selected commercial documentation
Where legal matters are more complex, particularly in family law or commercial matters, clear estimates are provided instead.
These estimates are designed to give a realistic understanding of likely costs based on the scope, complexity and level of involvement required. If the scope changes, the estimate is reviewed and discussed with you.
Some matters are managed on a pay-as-you-go basis where the nature of the work is less predictable.

Air Force discount
A discounted rate is available for eligible Air Force personnel for standard property transactions.

Alternative Payment Arrangements & JustFund
If you are in financial difficulty, have unexpected budget variations or prefer to pay at the end of your matter, there may be options to assist you.
